Type of tourism: sightseeing, cultural and outdoor activities.
Belize is situated on the Caribbean Sea, south of Mexico and east and north of Guatemala in Central America. Most of the country is heavily forested with various hardwoods. Mangrove swamps and cays along the coast give way to hills and mountains in the interior. It is a country in Central America and the only officially English speaking country in the region.
With a sub-tropical climate, tempered by trade winds, Belize is a peaceful nation and exports many of its natural resources. Belize is also very conscientious of its environment and protects many of the beautiful natural habitats of the country through reserves and parks.
